I try to be careful of who’s words I’m repeating through these quotes. I don’t want to give a voice to a hateful person just because they once said something clever or nice sounding. So I try to do a little research on a person before I use a quote by them. In this way I’ve learned a few things about some people I wouldn’t have known otherwise. Albert Speer, for instance, I knew only as “Hitler’s architect”. Among other things I learned about him, he was the only person tried at the Nuremberg trials after WW2 who admitted his guilt and accepted moral responsibility for his complicity in Nazi war crimes, although he said he was ignorant of the Holocaust.
